# The First Programmer

What do you think programming is? Nowadays, millions of people join C.S engineering without having a Scheme of what Programming is or What a Computer Signifies! They say, how tough these things are and Why they are nothing besides getting a job or so!

Let me Inform you about the Greatest and First Programmer in this world & know this She was a girl !!

Let me Introduce you to “Ada Lovelace“. Many of you may haven’t heard of her but I am sure all of you must have heard about “Charles Babbage”.

He is called the “Father of Computer” because he created the Difference and Analytical Engine which helped to calculate mathematical tasks automatically. Well not without anyone’s help.

He used to work with his student Ada Lovelace who was quite brilliant and excited about these things !

What Charles Babbage thought to make was that of a simple calculator but She didn’t think of that only. She was a poet and a pioneer whose dreams were too powerful for the world.

She introduced to the world that Computers can be more than just Mathematical Machines. She laid out the plans and Ideas that took us 100 years to reach.

Do you know what was the First Program she wrote? She wrote how to compute Bernoulli’s Number in Analytical Engine.

At the time where Bernoulli’s Number was hard enough for even Mathematician to explain, she inscribed that data to Analytical Engine.

Read this following Paragraph to know her Legacy!!

Ada saw something that Babbage in some sense failed to see. In Babbage’s world, his engines were bound by number…What Lovelace saw—what Ada Byron saw(His Father)—was that number could represent entities other than quantity. So once you had a machine for manipulating numbers, if those numbers represented other things, letters, musical notes, then the machine could manipulate symbols of which number was one instance, according to rules. It is this fundamental transition from a machine which is a number cruncher to a machine for manipulating symbols according to rules that is the fundamental transition from calculation to computation—to general-purpose computation—and looking back from the present high ground of modern computing, if we are looking and sifting history for that transition, then that transition was made explicitly by Ada in that 1843 paper.

The Legacy of Ada Lovelace had been running for almost 100 years. People Like Alan Turing, Eckert, and Mauchly(who made the first general computer ENIAC), Grace Hooper(She was the first lady who programmed in a general purpose computer), Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and many more.

These are not just Business minded people. They know how to think of the Future or what the Future Beholds. Our Civilization grows when people start having the courage to dream and work for the future without any Subjugation.

What a real programmer is, Well you have to think for yourself!!! Comment what part you felt interesting and come back for more. Thank you!!
